Mr. Ramsey is an Advanced Practice Nurse, Board Certified by the ANCC to provide counseling and psychotherapy for adults. ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) certification is essential for licensure to practice clinically and necessary for insurance reimbursement. Mr. Ramsey is also certified by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America in EEG biofeedback or Neurotherapy. As a Registered Nurse, he is uniquely qualified clinically to provide Neurofeedback for all age groups. Licensure can be checked at the Virginia Board of Nursing.
Mr. Ramsey is a distinguished honoree of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and in 2007 was one of 100 nurses commended for notable and outstanding contributions to the field of Nursing.

Mr. Ramsey has provided counseling, psychotherapy and hypnosis in diverse clinical settings, incorporating biofeedback modalities in 1991 into his 20-plus years of applied experience. He uses a Cognitive Behavioral combined with a Solution focused approach. Mr. Ramsey introduced Neurotherapy into his practice in 2003, and has completed advanced training with industry leaders at EEG Institute and EEG Spectrum.
Mr. Ramsey has been involved in Psychiatric and Mental Health care for over 25 years. In 1997, Mr. Ramsey began his private psychotherapy practice, where he has assisted individuals in their search for solutions to enhance their individual growth using Brief Therapy and Hypnosis. Prior to starting his own practice Mr. Ramsey had gained extensive experience in diverse clinical and educational settings. Currently Mr. Ramsey also provides Group and Family Therapy as the Assistant Coordinator in the Psychiatric Partial Day Program at Georgetown University Hospital, one of the nations top 100 hospitals (Newsweek) due to it's Psychiatric Program.
Mr. Ramsey has worked with VNA Home Health, managing both a Clinical Team in the delivery of community mental health care and providing supervision to the Mental Health Team. Mr. Ramsey has provided other services for INOVA Health Source as adjunct educator, facilitator and trainer specializing in the areas of preventative health, interpersonal communication and stress management. He has over 30 years experience with meditation and has conducted meditation groups and uses meditation within the context of Solution focused Cognative Therapy groups.
In addition, Mr. Ramsey has served as adjunct faculty at Marymount University of Arlington, Virginia and as a facilitator for an International Exchange Project for Nurses through George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia.
Mr. Ramsey served as a Counselor/Psychotherapist at Community Psychiatric Clinic in Bethesda, Maryland in the 1990's. Prior to this, Mr. Ramsey served various inpatient facilities as a staff RN and in supervisory roles.
Mr. Ramsey earned his Board Certification from ANCC in 1997. Mr. Ramsey completed his MSN in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing in 1996 from George Mason University. He has also completed an Organizational Development Certificate from Georgetown University in 2001. His hypnosis training is from the American Hypnosis Training Academy in Silver Spring, MD, completed in 1998.
Mr. Ramsey is certified for EEG Neurotherapy by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) and the Natural Therapies Certification Board (NTCB).
