Neurofeedback Center of Virginia LLC is a fee-for-service practice, and payment is expected at the time of each appointment. We do offer savings by way of special packages.
Coverage for EEG Biofeedback
If you have a health benefits policy, you can explore the possibility of reimbursement for biofeedback or our counseling services, however, we do not combine the two for purposes of reimbursement. If you are dealing with a mental health issue, our licensed clinician can perform an evaluation and provide psychotherapy.
Regarding Neurofeedback, you may be able to get coverage if you obtain a prescription or referral from your physician for an insurable issue that they feel would improve with non-clinical biofeedback relaxation training. Ask your health insurance carrier if they cover non-clinical biofeedback or 90901. Ask at what rate they cover non-clinical biofeedback of any kind, and be sure to ask if they reimburse for Neurofeedback specifically. You will be responsible for filing with your insurance company. This offer is for adolescent or adult beneficiaries only.
Medical Expense Deductions
IRS Code section 213 deems diagnostic procedures such as testing, evaluation and prescribed treatments for learning disabilities as being tax deductible medical expenses. A neuropsychologist, physician or other qualified professional must diagnose the learning disability condition and recommend appropriate treatments in order to qualify for said deduction. For more information please check with your attorney or tax planner. Additional information on this topic can also be seen in the June 2005 Steve Liemburg Estate Planning Newsletter (#836), available at www.leimbergservices.com.
